MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

YOUR MISSION

You will be responsible for performing maintenance/repairs to all the equipment at the two hotels (the Wakefield Mill Hotel and Spa and the O’Brien in Chelsea).

You will also be responsible for maintaining an extremely high level of customer service and professionalism while repairing and maintaining food service equipment. This job also involves working with the various suppliers and contractors related with Cable TV, Air Conditioning, Electrical equipment, Outsourced Electricians, Plumbers and Landscape partners

DUTIES

  • Installing, maintaining, repairing and testing a variety of equipment

  • Interacting with our hotel guests and ensuring that any information they require are appropriately addressed in a professional and courteous manner

  • Responding quickly and efficiently to service calls at both hotels

  • Assessing and completing repairs quickly, efficiently, and accurately

  • Maintaining an orderly and accurate parts inventory in the store room

  • Training with other staff on preventative maintenance and equipment usage procedures

  • Responding to on-call service emergencies on select evenings and weekends

  • Some travel required between the two hotels (gas allowance provided)

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma

  • Mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance license, a plus

  • At least 5 years working experience as an Engineer / Maintenance / Technical Contractor

  • Hotel Engineering experience, an asset

  • Ability to comprehend and communicate detailed instructions in French and English

  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities

  • Knowledge of local, provincial and federal workplace compliance regulations, ordinances and legislation

  • Possess a valid driver’s license

  • Able to create alternative solutions to problems

  • Able to work well under pressure

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Must possess excellent customer service skills, with the ability to ask probing questions and understand and resolve customer concerns

  • Must be smart phone literate, with the ability to learn and navigate new software quickly

SALARY

$19.00-$22.00 per hour
