Junior Human Resources & Administrative Generalist

Employment Type: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
Overview:
We are seeking a passionate, service-oriented Junior Human Resources & Administrative Generalist to join our team in the dynamic environment of our hotel and spa operations. In this role, you’ll be involved in all key HR functions, supporting team members across the property to ensure a high-quality employee experience—from recruitment and onboarding to training, administration, and performance support.

Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Staffing
Post job openings and assist in proactively sourcing candidates for key spa and hospitality roles (e.g., therapists, estheticians, front desk, kitchen, etc.)
Support the interview process and coordinate interview logistics. Ensure transparent communication with candidates to provide a positive experience
Assist with the onboarding of seasonal and part-time staff during peak periods
Maintain the talent pipeline based on operational needs
Conduct pre-employment background and reference checks
Onboarding & Integration
Prepare onboarding documentation and facilitate a warm and efficient welcome for all new employees
Ensure administrative paperwork, uniforms, access cards, and training programs are ready so that employees are set for success from day one
Conduct follow-ups with new hires during their first 90 days to support successful integration
Training & Development
Coordinate mandatory training sessions (hospitality, health and safety, customer service)
Assist department managers in tracking training progress and maintaining training records
Help develop internal training content related to spa operations and guest service
Administrative Support
Coordinate and follow up on government-related administrative tasks, including completing required forms and communicating with various provincial and federal bodies
Compensation & Benefits
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits processes
Coordinate annual salary reviews and bonus processes
Ensure compliance with pay equity regulations
HR Administration
Maintain up-to-date employee files and databases
Ensure compliance with labour laws and internal policies
Prepare HR reports and documentation as needed
Assist with time tracking, payroll data preparation, and benefits administration
Keep accurate and confidential employee records (HRIS, personnel files, etc.)
Support employee benefits administration and respond to routine inquiries
Performance & Employee Relations
Coordinate performance review processes with supervisors and department heads
Track performance review deadlines and submissions
Support management in basic disciplinary processes and documentation
Participate in employee engagement and feedback initiatives
Promote open communication and a positive work environment
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field
0–3 years of experience in an HR role, ideally within a service or hospitality setting (internships/co-ops included)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a high degree of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information
Understanding of employment standards, HR practices, and employment legislation in hospitality or spa environments
Highly organized, client-focused, and proactive
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with HRIS is an asset
Bilingual – French is the primary working language (French and English preferred)
