How long have you been working with us?
Almost 2 years.
Why did you choose to work at the Wakefield Mill?
At first it was a student job but then I chose to work full time because I was happier here!
What do you enjoy most about the Mill ?
My colleagues and the relationships I have built with them. Also the management team which is open, attentive and positive.
What is your favorite task ?
I really enjoy standardizing our work processes, making sure every guest has the same experience and finding ways to communicate well with my team.
What is the essential quality to do your job ?
Patience, customer service skills and a big smile!
What is your best memory at the Wakefield Mill ?
There are many, but a highlight for me was when I chose to work full time at the Mill and my manager, Nathalie, welcomed me with open arms.
An anecdote to share ?
Several guests have asked me to turn down the sound of the waterfall or to shut it down completely because the sound is loud. I then have to explain that I am not in charge of the water flow in the McLaren Falls...
What do you enjoy the most of the region ?
I am pretty new to the area, but nothing beats the colors of the trees in mid-October. I highly recommend a walk in Gatineau Park to admire them!
Why would you recommend the Wakefield Mill for work and/or sightseeing?
The Wakefield Mill is a big family, we take care of each other. I have never had such a great work experience. The employes sincerely enjoy working here and I believe that our clientele can feel it throughout their stay.
